Domaine Vella Frontera

Small independent winemaker and viticulturist, producing superb Roussillon red wines from our hand-managed vines, combining Catalan Charisma with French Finesse.




We currently have just two robust, red Roussillon wines for sale, with a third to be introduced in November 2008. Our syrah, vella frontera, is a limited production of only 1500 bottles, barrel aged, dark, complex and elegant with warm spicy notes of ripe plum and berries, developing to toasty vanilla and finishing with nutmeg and coffee. The Grenache, le fêtard, (The Merrymaker) is an easy drinking, red currant and ripe cherry filled wine finishing with cranberry acidity and rounded tannins. Our extremely tiny production of just 600 bottles of Carignan is produced from 120 year-old vines, barrel-aged and well rounded with tastes of mature, soft red fruits starting with strawberries, melting into raspberry ripple and ending on rich liquorice and hints of tar.
